Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have these terrible permanent stains on my teeth that literally will not go away. They are very noticeable on my two front teeth and on another tooth, and also on my back teeth as well. I brush my teeth every morning and night for a good two to four minutes or more times when they still feel unclean, but it has gotten to the point where they literally ruin my day-to-day activities because I do not like talking to people as they might be in plain view. Growing up, I did take a lot of medication for my asthma, like Ventolin, Seretide, and other medications, which may be the cause for these horrid stains, but all I really want to know is how to get rid of them.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern about the stains in your teeth as it really affects the confidence of a person. Stains can be caused due to a number of reasons both intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic stains can be caused due to internal factors like a few medicines, genetic disorders, etc. Whereas the extrinsic stains are caused by external factors like colored food items that are coffee, cold drinks, plaque, smoking, not maintaining the oral hygiene well, etc. Since I have not sent any pictures of your teeth. It is difficult for me to find out the exact cause of the stains. But there are a number of treatment options available to correct these stains. Two of the best ones are scaling and polishing the teeth and bleaching.
