Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a recurring rash on my hands, sometimes minor flare-ups appear on the ankle or on the leg around old bug bite scars but infrequently. It has been ongoing for nearly two years and seems to get better than worse. Symptoms seem to have improved but not resolved since changing diet. Currently, I am taking topical Finasteride and Minoxidil for 4 to 5 years. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

It is a hypersensitivity reaction (allergic reaction to itch mite antigen).

1. Apply Fucibet cream at night for 10 days.

2. Apply 5 percent Permethrin cream on day 1 and day 7 below the neck (on upper and lower limbs and trunk). The contact period should be 8 to 12 hours. Wash off the next morning.

3. Use Permite BB bar soap or Cetrimide soap for baths for a month.

4. Maintain proper hygiene and wash clothes separately in hot water. Iron them after drying. Also, avoid sharing personal belongings.

5. Tablet Ivermectin 12 mg once a week for 2 weeks and a tablet of Teczine-M once at night after food for 7 days can be taken. However, please consult a physician, discuss with them and start taking the medications with their consent.

7. Regularly change bedsheets, pillow covers, and linen.

8. Avoid exposure to dust, pollutants, allergens, or animal dander. Also, avoid known triggers.

9. Keep the surroundings clean.

Also, please answer the questions mentioned below.

1. Do you have any night aggravation itching?

2. Do you have pets in the house?

3. Do you perform excess scratching and rubbing of lesions?

4. Is there any similar complaints from family members?

5. Do you also have a fever?

Follow up after one month.

Hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
