Patient's Query
Hello,
I have a slight rash on my armpit and tiny white heads on it; it is not very itchy. I had this on my belly and armpit since last week. I noticed their first time being red, but they are gone now. Please help in identifying this and what needs to be done.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
It is an allergic rash with truncal acne associated with a secondary bacterial infection. Take Tablet Teczine-M (Levocetrizine 5 mg+Montelucast 10 mg) once at night after food for seven days. Use Azac soap (Azelaic acid 1.6% w/w) for the bath for two months. Take Tablet Loratadine 10 mg after breakfast for ten days. Apply Kevon stay on lotion (Ketoconazole 2%w/v) at night for 20 minutes before bed and wash before sleep for 20 days. Any history of fever? Thanks.
Patient's Query
Hi,
Thank you for the reply, doctor. Are these over-the-counter (OTC) medicines? Will I need a prescription? I feel fine, but my husband says I feel a little warm. My thermometer is not working at the moment.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Stay in a well-ventilated room. Avoid excess heat or trigger factors observed. Maintain proper hygiene. Do not share your personal belongings. Wash clothes in a hot water tub and iron clothes. Keep the area clean and dry. Thanks.
Patient's Query
Hello,
Thank you for the reply, doctor. I am living in a continental country and not sure if I will be able to get these medicines here.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
You will get it OTC in nearby pharmacy stores. Azac soap is anti-bacterial soap. You can use any of these such as Kevon (Ketoconazole), Candid (Clotrimazole), Teczine-M (Levocetrizine plus Montelukast). Thanks.
Patient's Query
Hi,
Thank you, doctor. I will try to find any anti-bacterial soap. Is Teczine- ML an allergy tablet? Can I use the one I use for seasonal allergies here instead of this? Also, can you please let me know what caused this? I shower daily, do not sweat much, and wear airy clothes.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes sure. It is an allergic reaction to an unknown antigen (could be genetic, autoimmune, environmental, seasonal, drug-related or food allergies, any new cosmetic product used), etc, or an infective cause (fungal infection). A new generation Anti-histaminic I have mentioned above. You are using old generation Anti-histaminics which have sedative effects and can cause an increase in an itch or allergic rash. Thanks.
Patient's Query
Hello,
Thank you, doctor. I can find Levocetirizine tablet but not with Montelukast. Will this work? I will take tablet Teczine- M equivalent Levocetirizine for seven days and use an anti-bacterial soap for the bath. Use Kevon lotion at night, and may I know what tablet Loratadine 10 mg is for? I will try to find it here.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes, to the first question. Tablet Loratidine is also an anti-pruritic or anti-allergic drug (newer generation). Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi,
Thank you for the reply, doctor. I am using the allergy medicine instead of tablet Teczine- M and got the Clotrimazole lotion. Ketoconazole is restricted here over the counter; I did not find it. So should I use Clotrimazole lotion instead of Ketoconazole lotion?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes, you can use Clotrimazole lotion instead of Ketoconazole lotion. Thanks.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.Should I put it on for 20 minutes and wash it off like Kevon or can I leave it be ? Also the rash on my armpit went away without any application of cream. I just had the allergy medicine alone.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Wash if irritation is present to medication. Thanks.
