Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had a question that always makes me nervous when I use a self-tanner. I feel like I have had skin cancer all these years.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It seems you have developed freckles. Freckles, or ephelides, are common in individuals who sunburn easily and do not tan. However, it is uncommon among people who have dark skin.

I suggest you use 30% Trichloroacetic acid cautery (TCA) or topical treatment with Depiwhite (Vitis Vinifera seed oil, Propanediol, Glycerin, Behenyl alcohol, C12-13 Alkyl Lactate, Hydrogenated coconut acid, Propylene glycol, and Glyceryl stearate) cream, apply it at night daily for sixteen weeks. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent.

Follow certain sun protection measures like avoiding midday sun, especially between 10 am and 4 pm. Seek shade whenever possible. Wear broad-brimmed hats. Apply Suncros soft gel sunscreen (Cyclopentasiloxane, Zinc oxide, C12-15 Alkyl benzoate, Dimethicone crosspolymer, Caprylyl methicone, Isostearic acid, and Polyhydroxystearic Acid) with SPF (sun protection factor) 50 plus in the morning all over the face, and it should be repeated after four hours once daily.

I hope this helps.

Kindly revert so I can assist you further.

Thank you.
