Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I did an electrocardiogram (ECG) today and the result was sinus arrhythmia and low voltage. I have been having health anxiety for two years. I am a 32-year-old female with a history of no such disease. I have drastically lost weight and I am just 99 pounds. It started with panic attacks last year which stopped within eight months but then seeing younger adults passing away from a cardiac arrest, I got nervous and it created cardiophobia within me. I get some dizziness, imbalance feeling, sometimes some chest pricks, and discomfort but they quickly pass. These changes triggered me, so I decided to see a cardiologist. The cardiologist suggested it might just be anxiety but recommended getting a two-dimensional echocardiography (2D echo) and an ECG. The ECG showed sinus arrhythmia and low voltage, which was likely because I was a bit nervous during the test.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I am very sorry about your medical condition and I am glad that you are paying attention to changes in your body system. But do not worry. I am here to take care of you.
Regarding your symptoms and electrocardiogram (ECG), I believe you have developed a sinus arrhythmia, a possible atrial tachycardia possibly due to anxiety, electrolyte imbalance, hypoglycemia (low sugar), and hypothyroidism.
Please do electrolytes, thyroid function test (TFT), fasting blood sugar, and the echocardiogram (echo) test and reply to me with the result. Please take the following: tablet Bisoprolol (beta blocker) 10 mg to be taken orally, four times a day for two weeks. Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
