Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have been suffering from blurred vision for six days; after taking a tablet of Sildenafil citrate and Dapoxetine. The blurred vision occurred immediately within an hour. I have visited a doctor in my city to be sure whether I will be cured. Currently, I am taking Dorzolamide, Nepafenac, and Wet eye drops. Please find the reports and suggest further. Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Sildenafil is known to cause optic neuritis, an optic nerve inflammation responsible for vision, but the incidence is extremely rare. The attachments (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity) reveal mild right eye color vision defects; other than that, it is normal. The fundus pictures could be clearer. I recommend doing a visual field test for both eyes. They detect optic nerve inflammation, even if mild. I also suggest taking very mild steroid eye drops and NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) tablets once daily for 15 days after consulting your specialist doctor. There is nothing major to worry. Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I will get tested as you suggested. Currently, I am taking Dorzolamide, Nepafenec, and Wet eye drops. Should I continue these medications, along with Dexamethasone (steroid) drops? Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Consult your specialist doctor, talk to them and take medications after their consent. Dorzolamide could be stopped after two weeks, and the other treatment could go on for a month. I would also add NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) tablets once daily for 15 days. Thank you.
