What could cause pain only during a sexual intercourse?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

For the past one month, it has been painful for about the first minute or two of sexual intercourse and it is also painful to take out my tampon. It is painful and I guess kind of feel like a cut on the inside. Should I see a gynecologist about this or is there anything I can do on my own to fix this?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You have dysmenorrhea. Take capsule Meftal spas (Mefenamic acid and Dicyclomine) when you have pain. Take light food during that period.
