Hello doctor,
My wife and I have undergone many laboratory investigations as we are trying to become parents for the past four months. My grandfather has four children and my father has two so I do not think of infertility issues in the family. My wife's blood test and ultrasound reports are normal. I got my scrotum ultrasound and hormone test done and have attached the report. I want to understand the ultrasound report and what could have affected the fertility. I would like to know if my ultrasound report shows any cyst or if there is a chance of blockage in vas deference. My volume is four to five ml and I am yet to get semen analysis done. What can be expected in my semen analysis based on ultrasound and hormone levels?
I have consulted an urologist and was said that there is no requirement for treatment as of now as no varicocele or cyst is present. I am in perfect health condition and my BMI is 22 and I am not overweight, I walk roughly 7000 steps a day. I eat a healthy diet like fruits (blueberry, strawberries, brazil nuts, bananas (daily), oranges) every four days a week and vegetables like kale, spinach, carrots, muli, etc. I am also taking a multivitamin, L carnitine, and CoQ 10 along with ashwagandha supplements for the past three months. I am concerned about the semen analysis test and any blockages in the tubes. I am also worried about the chromosome Y genetic defect. What can be expected in the reports and how do I proceed?

Kindly follow the suggestions already mentioned and regarding the Y chromosome defect, I would like to add that genetic testing is only required if semen analysis has any major abnormalities.

I am done with the analysis, waiting for the results very anxiously now. We have been trying for four months, so timing is not an issue, only thing I am concerned is about my semen parameters which are not right. My wife went through a TV ultrasound and no HSG for tubes yet, blood tests are all normal. I am not sure what could be expected from the test as my hormones and ultrasound are normal. I want to understand if my reports, which show the following values RT valve 0.098 inch, which is 0.98 before that its 0.07 inch are considered as grade 1 varicocele and that impacts motility or count? I am worried about the Y chromosome as it is the only thing I can doubt because the hormones and ultrasound reports are normal. Even the urologist detected no varicocele or cyst. But, what could cause the changes in levels?

I am here to help you get the best medical advice. I agree with your urologist that varicocele of grade 1 does not require treatment. I suggest you not be anxious and not worry about chromosome abnormalities at present. Wait for the semen analysis report. According to the report, further investigations or treatment, if needed, can be planned.
