How to get rid of self-harm scars?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a female. My age is 19 years old. I have self-harm scars on my arm. I want to remove them. I have not done any treatment or not even applied any ointment or oil from 2.5 years and now I want to remove them permanently without any complex surgery.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Laser ablation sessions will help remove them without any complications. The number of sessions depends on the depth of the scars. So, please send a photo.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response. Please check the photo and suggest me some treatments.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the clinical pictures (attachment remove to protect patient identity).

I would recommend Co2 laser ablative sessions that can be performed at the dermatologist outpatient clinic for your scars. This will require local anesthetic cream and results will appear within two weeks. The middle scars will require three to four sessions while the marginal ones are deeper and will require up to eight sessions to be removed.

I hope you find this helpful.
