Hi doctor,
I am looking for a specialist in schizophrenia. My brother is suffering from schizophrenia for more than 15 years. He has some symptoms of delusions. He remains addicted to smoking or nicotine. He also has a habit of self-talking and insomnia. He takes Valprol CR 500 in the morning and one and half a tablet in the evening, tablet Megazin 100 mg two tablets in the morning and two tablets in the evening, Sizopin 100 mg one tablet in the morning and one and a half tablet in the evening and Benzex 2 one tablet in the morning and evening.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. Your brother is suffering from schizophrenia. It is a chronic disorder and requires long-term medication to deal with it. If your brother remains stable with the above-mentioned medications, then you can continue giving him. All the above-mentioned medications are one of the best medications for schizophrenia. Your brother can have cognitive impairment in the future and there is no medication to deal with it. To stop having it, he needs to follow some measures and it helps him a lot. He needs to do exercise for 30 to 45 minutes daily. He needs to do meditation for 20 minutes daily. Make him sit in a place in comfortable position and make him concentrate on his normal breathing. Do not stop or force him to stop his thoughts. He should eat home-cooked foods and avoid giving junk foods. This prevents him from becoming obese as medications will increase his appetite and leads to weight gain. He needs to drink plenty of water. He should spend quality time with his friends and family daily. It helps him to become socialized. He should spend some time on creative hobbies like reading books, writing journals, painting, drawing, learning new skills or language or musical instruments. Kindly teach him to do some creative works. It enhances his cognitive ability. He should take enough sleep of seven to eight hours daily. He should avoid taking tobacco or alcohol.
