Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 26 years old and weigh 330 pounds. I have black scars on my skin, and it appears rough and itchy. Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
To lighten black scars, I suggest applying the following measures:
Avoid direct sunlight as much as possible. Always wear sunglasses and caps, and cover any exposed parts of the body.
Apply sunscreen to your entire body three times per day. For example, at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 3 p.m.
The sunscreen SPF (sun protection factor) should be approximately 50.
Apply an anti-pigmentation cream over the pigmented area, such as kojic acid, hydroquinone, or Depiwhite cream (hydroquinone, kojic acid, Ascorbyl methylsilanol pectinate).
The most successful treatment is glycolic acid peels, with around six to eight sittings of peels required.
For scar removal, I suggest the following:
Derma-roller with subincision is also another method but less effective than above.
Filler has a hiding effect: it fills the pits and gives the impression of fullness. Although this technique is not permanent.
You can try these techniques. All procedures require four to six sittings and five to six months for optimal outcomes.
I hope this information will help you.
Kindly revert in case of queries.
Thank you.
