Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My daughter is six-years-old. I weigh around 34.8 pounds and height of 46.4 inch. She has mesenteric nodes and has been suffering from abdominal pain for two years. In the last scan, they mentioned the possibility of a simple renal cyst in the left kidney mid-pole region. Our pediatric doctor told us that it is not serious if you leave it now. Sometimes gas will be like a cyst (most of her pain will be reduced after has been released). All her urine and blood reports are normal. But in the last two to three days, she passed urine normally and very little sometimes and often had a sense to pass it (passed four times from morning 6 am to 10 am) three times and normally one time a little. She took a urine routine test two months ago, and it was normal. She is not experiencing any pain while urinating. What do these symptoms mean? Is it due to the heat or is there any other problem, doctor? Her water intake has been a maximum of 750 ml recently.
My question is:
I took a urine routine on 7th May. But it is normal.
Not having any pain while urinating.
What does the symptom mean?
Is it because of heat or any problem, doctor? Her water intake is 750 ml maximum recently.
Please give suggestions.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
Pain in the abdomen is common in children.
Give tablet Albendazole 400 milligrams once a day for seven days if already deworming is not done regularly.
Get a Mantoux test done and evaluate for tuberculosis.
Her urine analysis showed how many pus cells, did she have a febrile urinary tract infection (UTI) previously, was MCU done to rule out reflux.
Ultrasound (USG) is not properly getting downloaded, so kindly type the final impression.
The only problem in the urinary system currently is occasional frequency without dysuria. If she does not have frequent urination at night, I suggest she take a tablet of Roliten (Tolterodine) 1 milligram once a day before the time she gets frequency.
Thank you for consulting me.

Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
Pus cells 1to3/hpf
Not having a fever when she had UTI before.
No MCU done.
Not passing urine while in sleep
Is anything serious, doctor?
What about cyst treatment?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
She has UTI without fever, which means it does not affect the kidney. At night time, it is normal without getting up to pass urine.
A suggested medication option is as follows:
Taking a tablet of
Roliten or Tolterodine 1 milligram in the morning on days of frequency will suffice.
She requires MCU (XRAY) if she has recurrent urinary tract infetion (UTI), proven by the presence of greater than five pus cells on various occasions. UTI can not be diagnosed just based on symptoms. The cyst may be dilated pelvis due to low-grade reflux.
Thank you for consulting me.

Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for your prompt reply.
I am not familiar with the dilated pelvis. Does any problem arise if treatment is delayed?
We are going to our home country next month. Can we start treatment next month? Is it treated by medicine or surgery?
Suppose the size remains the same, 2.8 x 2.2 centimeters, next month. What will be the treatment? Is there any food restriction for her? Does this cyst harm her?
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
It will not at all harm her till next month. You can safely start treatment when you come to your home country. You can give her Winex every time with persistent symptoms and urine analysis of less than 5 pus cells. The condition can be treated with medicines. The cyst size is expected to remain stable with no harm. No food restrictions. Just get a urine analysis whenever urinary symptoms. But presently, in the absence of significant pus cells, give Tolterodine 1 milligram or Oxybutynin 2.5 milligrams in the morning only.
Thank you for consulting me.
