Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I need a second opinion on my mother's report. My mother was recently diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma and had her kidneys removed. I need advice on the best course of treatment.
Is cancer spreading fast?
Kindly advise.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query and understood your concern.
I have reviewed your mother's reports (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity).
Based on the reports, I suggest she suffers from metastatic renal cell carcinoma, a high-grade, clear cell type. In such cases, we go for surgery to minimize the tumor burden that she has already undergone. I suggest a whole-body PET/CT (positron emission tomography-computed tomography scan).
It is usually recommended after surgery to find out the total disease extent. Also, I would like to know about certain things, like her general health and blood reports, to determine her risk status.
I hope this has helped you.
Please feel free to reach out in case of further queries.
Thank you.
