Can Semaglutide be combined with BP meds to reduce belly fat?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Is it good to use Ozempic injections while on blood pressure medication? I have been on blood pressure medication for over six months, and I am seeing positive changes, but I have gained a lot of weight, and the doctor warned me that I have to shed some to reduce the risk of diabetes. Is it safe to use Ozempic injections to shed this weight because exercising and other options have failed to help reduce the rapid and massive weight gain, particularly in my belly? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern regarding the Semaglutide injection. This injection is completely safe with blood pressure medications. It has been shown to have a very good effect on weight loss, cholesterol reduction, and even blood pressure reduction. As you lose weight, your blood pressure medication dose will also come down. Semaglutide may have a few side effects, like nausea or vomiting; other side effects are very rare. It is not recommended in pregnancy, or if you are planning one, its use is contraindicated. I hope I have answered all your questions. Thank you.
