Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have receding gum, only under one tooth, with no pain. However, none of the other teeth next to it have any recession of the gum. Is this something I should be concerned about, specifically the tooth becoming loose?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Receding of gums can be due to poor oral hygiene, calculus formation, and trauma. But I need to know more about the status of your oral cavity, whether single tooth or more than one is affected, and the level of hygiene. It is a problem and can lead to tooth loss. However, it can be managed by maintaining good hygiene, soft bristle toothbrush usage, and flap procedure. I suggest a better option if you send a photograph of the teeth, both the outer and inner view, and let me know about brushing habits and any medical history.
