What is the non-itchy foot rash?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have noticed some rash on my right feet. It is not itchy but very rough. I have been massaging for three months with ghee (clarified butter), olive oil, and coconut oil but it has not reduced a bit rather gone a little darker. I have very extremely dry feet.

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Looking at the picture (attachment removed to protect patient identity). I can list a few possibilities. Asteatotic eczema, psoriasis, tinea pedis, allergic contact dermatitis.

Is this picture taken after you have massaged with oil?

Do you have it only on right foot?

Any rash in-between the toes or on the sole, left foot, palms, elbows, knee?

Did this start three months back? What is your age?

Please revert with the answers.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If it is only your right foot that is involved, it is more likely eczema. Use topical Mometasone 0.1 % cream, mix with Xerina cream (moisturizer with Urea) in 1:1 ratio, apply a thin layer only to the affected area at night for two weeks. Use Xerina cream in the morning without Mometasone. If there is no response to this treatment after two weeks, you may need a detailed examination with a dermatologist in person, to check for sensation, to search for similar lesions.

Thank you.
