Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have conducted HIV rapid tests using five different manufacturers' kits at home, employing finger-pricked blood samples. These tests were performed after engaging in potentially protected sexual encounters with a female sex worker before 9 years. I have repeated the tests over 60 times between last year and this year, and all results have consistently shown negative outcomes.
I am seeking clarification on the conclusiveness, accuracy, and reliability of these tests. Is it safe to conclude that I am 100% negative for HIV, or do further tests remain necessary? Also, I am experiencing persistent symptoms such as body pain, weakness, palpitations, and a recurring burning sensation in various body parts that shift from one location to another. Despite checking vitamin B12 and D3 levels (which are normal) and having no diabetes, I am perplexed by these neuropathy-like symptoms. Could you please shed light on the possible reasons behind these symptoms?
Thank you for your time and guidance.
