Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 34 years old and had hay fever five months ago. I had a runny nose and itchy eyes. Later it cleared out, and I did not have any symptoms. However, I had puffiness around my eyes four to five years ago, lasting more than a week. So, my question is how to get rid of hay fever. Do I have puffy eyes due to hay fever?I had undergone a blood test and had a low WBC count. My biochemical blood test reports showed high bilirubin levels. I am taking medications for the same.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
If possible, can you please send a picture of the affected area? Do you have any urinary problems? You may have swollen or puffy eyes due to hay fever. The inflammation brings more fluid into the tissue areas affected. Swollen eyes could last a little longer than other symptoms, as it can take time for the blood vessels to reduce to their standard size. You can soak a towel in cold water or refrigerate a damp cloth or eye pillow. Then lie down with the compress across your eyes to let the coolness reduce swollen eyelids. Sometimes the shape of the orbit or the amount of fat or underlying tissue can make your periorbital area look puffy. In that case, you require cosmetic treatment.
