I can feel my right testicle moving towards my groin and it is painless. What could be the cause?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 26-year-old male, unmarried. I want to ask a question regarding testicles. A couple of days back, I noticed my right testicle is rising a bit closer to the groin when I masturbate and ejaculate, but it comes back to the scrotum after a few seconds.

I do not feel any pain. But I would like to know about this in detail. I am residing in a colder country, and I am not sure if that is the reason. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. The movement is not considered abnormal, as one testicle is usually smaller than the other.

You feel the testicle moving up into the groin and then coming back to normal after some time. It can be a hernia, and to confirm that, you should get an ultrasound done for the groin and inguinal region. Then consult a physician with the test results. A physical examination is required as well.

Although the chances of it being a hernia are less, if it is a hernia, then your doctor will suggest appropriate management for it once the diagnosis is confirmed.

I hope it helps.

Feel free to contact me for any further queries in the future.

Thank you.
