I get prolonged bleeding some months. Why?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 22 years old unmarried female. I have already connected with icliniq. I had irregular slight prolonged bleeding before nine months. I took tablet Gynaset for two weeks, and then for three months, my periods were regular. Again before three months, I have the same prolonged periods, and it increases eventually while masturbating. Is it a serious problem? Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The causes behind irregular periods could be polycystic ovaries, irregular eating habits, recent changes in sleep habits and lifestyle, thyroid disorders, etc. I would recommend you to do

1. Complete blood count.

2. Serum thyroid function test.

3. Ultrasound pelvis.

Your symptoms are not very concerning, as of now. It is common to have on and off bleeding when on Gynaset (Norethisterone). Do not worry. If it is possible, you could do the above-mentioned tests. We can know the diagnosis and provide appropriate treatment accordingly.

I hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I am not taking Gynaset now. The flow increases sometimes, and it leads to mental stress for me.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The bleeding will be on and off even when you stop Gynaset (Norethisterone). Do not worry. It is very common.
