This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been experiencing headaches, pain behind my eyes, and fatigue for the past two days. The discomfort makes it hard to focus and drains my energy. The symptoms seem to be triggered by sinus congestion and have persisted. Please help.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

It sounds like your symptoms may be due to acute sinusitis or sinus-related headaches, especially given your history of sinus issues. The pressure behind the eyes, headache that worsens with movement, congestion, and fatigue are common signs of sinus inflammation. Possible causes:

  1. Sinus congestion or infection – Inflammation in the sinuses can cause pressure, headaches, and eye pain.

  2. Allergies or weather changes – If triggered by dust or temperature shifts, it could be allergic sinusitis.

  3. Eye strain – If you have been using screens a lot, eye strain could be adding to the pain.

  4. Dehydration or lack of sleep – Can worsen headaches and fatigue.

What you can do to feel better:

  1. Steam inhalation – Helps open blocked sinuses. Try hot showers or a bowl of hot water with a towel over your head.

  2. Nasal irrigation – Using a saline spray or a neti pot can clear mucus buildup.

  3. Hydration and rest – Drink plenty of water and rest to help your body recover.

  4. Pain Relief – Paracetamol (Tylenol) or Ibuprofen can help relieve headaches.

  5. Limit screen time – If eye strain is a factor, reduce screen exposure and take frequent breaks.

I hope this information will help you.

Thanks.
