Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 29-year-old female with a height of 5 feet and weight of 54 kgs with normal menstruation cycles. I am trying to get pregnant, so I had intercourse during the fertile window. But I got my period today. Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Your BMI (body mass index) looks normal. Pregnancy occurs due to intercourse between male and female, in which healthy sperms should be released inside the vagina of the female. After which fertilisation should occur with the egg depending on the female ovulation pattern. Since you have regular menstruation, do not worry. The fertilized egg is then implanted in the uterus of the female to conceive. During implantation, there is less bleeding. Follow the below instructions:
1) I suggest you tablet folic acid.
2) If your partner has a habit of smoking or drinking ask him to stop the same.
3) Follow a healthy diet and lifestyle.
Provide details about your previous pregnancy and bleeding flow for better assessment.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor for the reply,
I will definitely take care of me and my partner's health. I do not have any history of pregnancy. This was my second attempt. My last period was before a month and we had intercourse this month. I have 28 days of period cycle, so I have periods today. My first day of period usually has less bleeding. Can you please advice me which days will be ovulation days or fertile window? Please prescribe the tablet.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. You need not worry, as it is your second attempt only. Female with the age of less than 30 years can try regularly and do not require any fertility treatment until one year of trying to conceive. You have 28 days period cycle, so your ovulation begins 14 days before your menstruation. Follow the instructions below:
1. I suggest you take a tablet containing folic acid 5 mg once daily.
2. Have regular and frequent intercourse during the fertile window.
I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
