How to deal with abnormal platelet count?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My hemoglobin level is 11.9 and have an abnormal platelet count.
Kindly help.
Hello,
We welcome you to icliniq family.
I appreciate the confidence you place in me for your healthcare consultation.
It is better if you provide your CBC (complete blood count) report with examination and clinical complaint. Let me know if your serum globulin and platelet count are within the limit. You have mentioned that you are not having a normal platelet count but the report, it is normal (attachment remove to protect the patient's identity). Normal hemoglobin in females is between 12 to 15 g/dl. As such in the history you have provided has no alarming result. Eosinophil count normally is up to 6 %. That is high here but its results should always be interpreted in AEC (absolute eosinophil count) which can be calculated only if the total count is provided. High eosinophils are usually from eczema, asthma, allergy, or parasitic infection. For allergies if needed, a Fexofenadine (antihistamine) course can be taken.
I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
