What causes foot pain after resting on the heels?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

It looks like foot callus. It is painful when I rest my foot on my heals and I have this for three to four months.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen the picture (attachment removed to protect patient identity). You are having plantar wart and it is a viral infection. Please use a moisturizer Elovera IMF cream in the morning and apply it to the spots present on the foot. Apply Salactin or Duofilm lotion four to five times a day on the spots present on the foot. You can take tablet Ascazin (Zinc acetate) one tablet daily at night. Wart has to fall off from the root. It will take up to three to four weeks. Take care.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Please say about the duration of taking Ascazin. Please say about the cause of having warts and how to prevent it from spreading to the other parts of the body and to my family members. Before a couple of years, my son had a plantar wart on his foot and we applied salicylic acid-based removal medicine to clear it. I want to know whether it can spread to others or not.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is a viral infection caused due to human papillomavirus. Always wear shoes. Your immunity helps to throw it away. Take the tablet Ascazin for two months. If there is no change, remove it after consulting a surgeon and do cryotherapy.
