Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am 35 years old who, is 20 weeks pregnant, and in my last ultrasound, I was diagnosed with partial placenta previa. I want to know, can I travel by air for just 1 hour? My last ultrasound was three weeks back.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Your first query consult is on us!
I have gone through your case and I understand your concern. Although I am not able to get the image (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) you sent, I suggest you not travel by air if there is partial or complete placenta previa. While traveling through the air, there is the chance of an increase in abdominal pressure and it can cause bleeding due to placental separation. In cases, of placenta previa, you should be more careful. So, you should not lift heavy weight, and avoid rough traveling because the placenta might change the location till 28 weeks. I hope you have done your anomaly scan, if not, please go for it.
Thank you.
