Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have had an uneven skin tone on my face since way back, perhaps 9 years back. Some parts of the face are darker whilst others are lighter in complexion. I do not have any symptoms for my skin condition but I would like to ask if any of this is normal or what?
Kindly help.
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
I understand your concern, from your history, it looks like you have pigmentary demarcation lines (PDL), which is just uneven pigmentation of the skin. Kindly send me a photo of the areas you find these pigmentary issues, so that I can grade your condition and give you the appropriate treatment. There are many treatments for uneven hyperpigmentation such as Kojic acid, Azelaic acid and other cosmetic treatments to even out the pigmentation of the face like chemical peeling, laser therapy, microneedling, PRP (platelet-rich plasma), dermabrasion. As a precautionary measure, you can use gel-based sunscreen and have a capsule of Antoxid HC (antioxidant) once daily for 30 days. At daytime, use a sunscreen of SPF (sun protection factor) not less than 30, two hours before getting into the sun. Apply twice once in the morning and the next application at noon. Drink a minimum of eight glasses of water. Maintain a healthy weight and diet. For PDL (pulse-dyed laser) specific treatment, Kindly send me a photo.
I hope this information helps you.
Thank you.
