Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I believe I may have phimosis as my foreskin is difficult to retract when I am erect. However, my main concern is that my penis has not grown since I was 14. I am currently 19 years old, but it remains the same size as it was when I was a child. Could phimosis be affecting my penile growth, or am I simply experiencing delayed maturation?
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. Phimosis is a condition where the foreskin is tight and difficult to retract over the head of the penis. While phimosis itself may not directly impact the size or growth of the penis, other factors may be contributing to your concern. It is important to note that the size and development of the penis can vary significantly among individuals. It is normal for the penis to continue growing and developing until early adulthood, and in some cases, even into the early 20s. Some individuals may reach their full penile size earlier, while others may experience a longer period of growth.
Regarding the issue of phimosis, if it is causing discomfort or difficulty during sexual activity or personal hygiene, it is advisable to seek interventions. Gentle stretching exercises or, in some cases, circumcision may be recommended to address the tightness of the foreskin. It would be best to consult with a healthcare professional who can assess your specific situation and provide appropriate guidance and treatment options.
Thank you.
