Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 31-year-old guy, and I have been noticing these small red pimples and redness on my penis for about five to six days now. They are visible on the tip and underneath. I am pretty diligent about hygiene, washing every day, but lately, my penis has been feeling itchy whenever I touch it or masturbate. After washing it well with soap today, I noticed more redness and a more vigorous burning and tingling sensation. Oddly enough, there is no itching or burning when I leave it alone during the day. I am concerned and wondering if there is a treatment for this. I recently recovered from a bacterial infection, and this issue seems to have cropped up right after that. Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
We feel glad that you reached out to us.
Based on your photographs (attachments wereremoved to protect the patient's identity), I can observe small red lesions and irritated areas. I do not see any discharge since you have cleaned the area well. You mentioned experiencing burning, tingling, and itching, along with a recent bacterial infection and likely antibiotic treatment. However, you have not mentioned your age, diabetic history, or past occurrences of such lesions.
Considering your history and the photographs (attachments wereremoved to protect the patient's identity), it appears to be a candida infection (a type of yeast that naturally inhabits the body).
I suggest the following treatment plan:
Capsule Itraconazole 100 mg twice daily for ten days after meals.
Take the tablet Loratadine once daily for burning and itching.
Apply Clotrimazole gel twice daily.
Clean the affected area with regular soap and water, ensuring it is dry before applying the gel.
Keep the skin retracted and dry, especially if you have diabetes (high sugar levels in the blood).
Treat your sexual partner with a single dose of Itraconazole 400 mg. Avoid sexual activity during the treatment period if active.
Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take the medications with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Kindly revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.
