Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I recently had a small cyst in the ovary and pelvic inflammatory disease for which I got treatment. But still, I have an unusual discharge that looks like tissue paper and comes out like milk. At the same time, I have normal discharge also. That discharge is noticeable in my panties and also, when I insert my fingers in my vagina there is a lot of discharge. I finished taking my medications a few months back and currently not taking any medications. I am not pregnant. I have done all the blood tests and everything was negative. What could be the reason for my problem?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern. According to the image, this looks like an infection (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). You should not insert your finger in your vagina unnecessarily, it can be the source of infections. I would suggest you take a proper antibiotic course for five days. Take tablet Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily, tablet Metronidazole 400 mg thrice a day, and tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg twice daily before meal. Keep vaginal pessary containing Clindamycin and Clotrimazole in your vagina before sleeping at night. Consult your specialist doctor, talk to them, and then take medications with their consent. To avoid such infections frequently, you should keep the vaginal area clean and dry. Change undergarments two times a day and wash your genitals with soft cleansers. I hope this information helps you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for your reply.
Will it be okay if I do not keep the medicine, instead keep my vagina dry and clean?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
If the discharge is excessive then you must take antibiotic course. Without antibiotics it is difficult to mange an infection.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Thank you for the reply doctor,
I have completed the medicine but I forgot to take tab of Pantoprazole and other tablets also I have taken at the wrong time. What should I do now?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com
I read your query and understood your concern. If you forgot to take the tablets of Pantoprazole, then it is all right. That was for acidity because these antibiotics may induce acidity so for precaution I had prescribed it. Which other medicines you forgot to take and how is the discharge now? I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
There are still two capsules of Clindamycin remaining. I took the tablet Doxycycline before eating and the tablet Metronidazole after eating. I am unsure about the discharge, as there is also clindamycin medication discharge, which typically occurs at night.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. Now, do not use the remaining Clindamycin, let it be. This medication should help clear the discharge. Kindly ensure you follow all the instructions I provided. Use condoms during intercourse. Are you experiencing any other symptoms? Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply,
My discharge was cleared out after taking the medicine but it seems like discharge are coming again now. Usually it is more but for now my discharge is like the file I attached here. Kindly review it.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. Firstly, I would like to inform you that normally, a clear sticky discharge occurs during ovulation, followed by a slightly whitish, odorless discharge after ovulation. The current discharge appears to align with the post-ovulation pattern. There is no need to be concerned about this. Just make sure to adhere to all the preventive measures I previously outlined to avoid such infections. Could you also provide your last menstrual date? I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thanks for the reply,
Last month between 20th to 28th day I menstruated. I was just worried so I thought to talk to u first.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Then yes, that discharge is after ovulation discharge. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
The situation appears to be deteriorating. It remains consistent with what I previously shared and showed you, and the discharge is non-sticky. While I have not experienced any other symptoms, I have noticed some itching on various parts of my body, such as the breasts and abdomen (though I am unsure if it is related). I have included an image that I captured while washing my private area. Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern.
I have reviewed the reports you attached (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity) and yes, indeed, the situation has escalated. This escalation could be attributed to an infection. Now, I suggest you complete the entire course of antibiotics as I previously specified. Make sure not to skip any doses this time. Also, diligently adhere to all the instructions I provided earlier. Additionally, refrain from inserting your finger, as it could serve as a potential source of infection. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thanks for the reply,
Why do I keep experiencing these infections? I have consistently ensured that I wash my fingers before inserting them, and today was the first time I inserted to check. Can I wait for one month before beginning medication? I am currently located in an area where medicines are not readily available. Should I seek an in-person consultation with a doctor? What steps should I take if I follow your recommended treatment but still do not experience improvement?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. I suggest you initiate medication promptly, as delaying the antibiotic course could lead to the infection worsening. In the event that the infection persists despite the medication, a vaginal swab should be conducted. This will provide insights into the specific organisms present and their antibiotic resistance profiles. Subsequently, appropriate antibiotics can be administered based on this information. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply,
I have already done the vaginal swap and doctor says it is normal. Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
When you had done vaginal swab test? Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thanks for the reply. Why do I keep getting that infection? I have taken medication three times, yet it is still the same. For some weeks, it looks normal, but then it starts again. I do not think it is because of inserting my fingers.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. But keep in mind that vaginal discharge normally occurs due to hormonal changes. Furthermore, most of this is attributed to normal vaginal discharge rather than an infection. I suggest you refrain from taking any medication at this time, instead, focus on adhering to all instructions for maintaining hygiene. Observe these changes for a month, during which you will likely notice an increase in this discharge after ovulation, followed by a decrease after menstruation. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thanks for the reply. I wanted to ask you that, is dry cottage cheese like discharge is normal? After the completion of the medicine, my discharge seem normal. After that I got my periods. After a week I started to have ovulation then I noticed that I was getting that dry cottage cheese like discharge. That discharge cover around my private part and it looks all white. Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. It is white discharge, which is normal. It is not like dry cottage cheese-like discharge. For just a month, follow hygiene instructions exclusively. After urination, make sure to wash the genital area with water and dry it using a soft fabric. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
It is dry cottage like only. Picture I attached earlier looks wet because of water. I been following hygiene all along. And why do I keep getting infected?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. In my opinion, it does not seem to be an infection. I completely understand your situation. Could you consider observing it for a month? Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
It seems like the condition is getting worse. It is dry discharge all white and it does not look normal to me. I do not have any other symptoms. Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. I have reviewed the pictures you attached (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity), I suggest you undergo a seven-day course of antibiotics without missing any doses. I suggest you follow the below mentioned instructions and treatment regime:
I suggest you consult a specialist, talk with them and take the medications with their consent. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Can you please explain why this is happening? I have already undergone treatment for this three times, and now I am facing it for the fourth time. Despite consistently practicing good hygiene, I am wondering why this keeps occurring.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. There might be some infectious sources that might be the reason. This can result from sexual intercourse or insufficient cleansing of the genital area after urination. Another potential factor is the possibility of not completing the antibiotic course accurately. In such cases, the infection and discharge could diminish but not be fully eradicated, allowing residual infectious agents to persist. Consequently, the issue may resurface after a few days, leading to the recurring discharge. Given the circumstances, I suggest you complete the current course of medication thoroughly. Do you have diabetes or if there is a family history of diabetes? I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have taken all the prescribed medications and have not missed any doses. The time I missed medication was during the last episode you described. I do not have diabetes, and neither does my family. Considering this, should I proceed with taking the medications you have prescribed? Can I expect the condition to be cured through this treatment? And if, by any chance, it does not get completely cured, what should be the next step?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. You should continue taking the prescribed medication for seven days, along with three doses of fluconazole once weekly. Following the completion of this course, the infection should not reoccur. I suggest you also monitor your blood sugar levels. Elevated blood sugar can increase the likelihood of such infections. However, if the condition does not improve despite this treatment, further steps might be necessary. Intravenous antibiotics could be considered, or additional investigations like ultrasound (USG) and urine tests might be needed. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply,
Can I delay taking the prescribed medication? I am currently on medication for a high fever. I am concerned about the impact on my health because I have been taking a lot of medication. Is there any risk to my health due to this?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. You have not taken the prescribed medication up until now? The fever you are experiencing might be related to this infection as well. Therefore, I suggest you proceed with the antibiotics. Could you also provide the prescription detailing the medications you are currently taking? This way, I can make any necessary adjustments if required. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I only need to take the medicine for seven days, correct? I have been experiencing feelings of sleepiness, tiredness, and lethargy after taking the medication.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. Yes, that is correct. Take the medication for seven days without missing any doses. These are solely antibiotics, and the symptoms you are experiencing should not be attributed to these medications. However, even if they are connected, there is no need to worry. Any discomfort caused by the medicines should subside within two to three days after you stop taking them. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have completed the medications you had prescribed. Now my discharge is milky white. Is it normal?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. I have reviewed the pictures you attached (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity), and it's evident that this is not a normal discharge. I suggest you wait for three to four days. If the discharge remains unchanged during this time, it might be necessary for you to visit a nearby gynecologist. They can conduct an examination and, if required, administer intravenous antibiotics. During your visit, make sure to inform the gynecologist about all the medications you have taken. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thanks for the reply. I will wait for a month to observe if the discharge changes. Despite undergoing various tests, I am worried why the unusual discharge persists. I have been consuming a significant amount of medication for my vaginal infections over the past six months. Should I be concerned about my overall health due to this prolonged medication use?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. Even after completing the full antibiotic course, if the discharge remains unchanged, it suggests the presence of an infectious focus that needs to be identified and addressed. I suggest you consult a specialist, talk with them and take the medications with their consent.
I hope this has helped you.
Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have undergone all the necessary blood tests, ultrasound, and vaginal swab tests. Is there any reason these tests might not be sufficient?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understood your concern. The tests you have undergone are typically sufficient. However, if despite conducting all these investigations and undergoing antibiotic treatments, the discharge persists, there might be a crucial aspect that is yet to be identified. This is why I am suggesting a thorough examination, and it is possible that intravenous antibiotics might be required. Oral antibiotics might not be effectively clearing the issue, so a more intensive approach could be necessary. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My discharge is not much like before, maybe it is getting better but still, I am not sure. Today I got a yellow pimple in my vagina I do not know if it is normal or not.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com
Well, it looks like discharge is quite decreased now. Sometimes such pus-filled pustules may occur as in other parts of the body due to dehydration or minor infections. Right now for this, no intervention is needed it will get resolved by itself. Just maintain proper hygiene as I mentioned earlier and keep yourself hydrated, take at least three liters of water per day.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I do not know if it is normal or not but it has been burning a little for some days now so I have started applying BoroPlus today. Is my discharge normal?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com
This could be due to the irritation. Apply Clotrimazole cream locally.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
What about the discharge? Does it look normal? I get discharge like rubber. It's white, thick stretchy. Sometimes I get discharge like I used to get while having that infection earlier.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com
That much discharge is normal. This is normal after ovulation discharge. Just maintain hygiene like you should keep that area clean and dry, and change undergarments two times a day.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Is it normal? It looks like cooked rice.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
The image you have sent now is not normal. After completing all antibiotic courses the infection is not getting cleared so you should take IV antibiotics.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Should I consult a doctor about the infection and try antibiotics 1 more time? Will it be harmful?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
This time also you have not completed your course properly? If yes, then how the infection will get cleared? There is no issue in visiting your nearby gynecologist and taking advice but he will also advise you same antibiotics if you go then tell him or her all the antibiotics you took so then he will have an idea and may change the antibiotics or give it intravenously.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Can I go swimming in fresh water while on medications?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes, you can go, just before that clean the vagina and genital area properly.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Can I have intercourse? My medications are finished today.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
You can do intercourse, just use condoms while having intercourse.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had pain during intercourse in my lower abdomen. Why?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Pain during intercourse could be because of infection or due to rough intercourse. If there is smelly vaginal discharge then you can say the infection is still there. Otherwise, that pain should be considered either due to rough intercourse or due to less lubrication during intercourse.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had intercourse before the urine test now you said I have a urine infection.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Due to intercourse also urinary infection can occur and it is not a serious problem. With the antibiotic course, it will get cleared.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had intercourse after taking the urine test so will it change because of that? Should I do a urine test again?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
No intercourse does change the results. It could be the reason for infection, for it will not affect the results so you do not need to repeat the test.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I did an ultrasound and took medicine for it. After that, I did a urine test and now I am taking medicine for that. Is there anything I am missing or doing wrong as my discharge is still the same? I still have medicine left and I am taking it. I did not understand exactly what happened to me. Is the ultrasound and urine test the same?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com
I have gone through the reports and descriptions. As per your history please confirm whether your partner has any infection, because even after taking all these antibiotics and maintaining all the hygiene the infection should have cleared.
I hope this helps.
Patient's Query
Hello,
Yes, my partner had it and he took medicines too. After completing my treatment should I do an ultrasound and urine test again?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
No, you do not need to do a USG scan or urine test now but ask your partner to repeat the test and check whether the infection has cleared or not.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Keeping my partner aside tell me what should I do now. Is discharge because of UTI? Will discharge be normal after completing medicines?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
UTI will not cause vaginal discharge. UTI means urinary-related infection, in that you will get burning micturition and increased frequency of urination, discharge is because of vaginal infection and PID. For that, you have already taken so many antibiotics so I will not recommend you any further antibiotics. see I have already explained to you that normally also you will get some discharge.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
So this discharge is normal? It is like paper and not slimy but hard.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes, this much discharge is normal.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I wanted to ask if it looks normal because I do not feel like it is.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Yes, it is normal. Do not overthink and do not get stressed.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Discharge is still the same I think. I am taking probiotic capsules. My stomach hurts.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
This much discharge is fine, do not need to be worried about it. Abdominal pain could be because of anything like indigestion or gaseous distension.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Should I be concerned bout this discharge?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com
Yes, it is normal. You do not need to worry until the discharge is foul-smelling and the color is green or yellowish. I already explained to you that after ovulation normal cloudy discharge occurs.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had intercourse with my partner and since yesterday I have had painful urination. After urination also I feel uncomfortable. After intercourse, I got some little blood (not watery) in my urine. Had a fever for two days. Do I have a UTI? I even drank so much water still no improvement.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
It could be a UTI, but as you have already taken so many antibiotics, I would suggest not starting any antibiotics. Take tablet urispas twice daily for 3 to 5 days and syrup Cital 2 teaspoons in a glass of water twice daily.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
