What causes back and abdomen pain with white discharge?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been experiencing back and abdomen pain for the past five to six days. Also, I have a white discharge.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Back pain with white discharge could be caused by pelvic inflammatory disease or infection of the pelvic organs. Bacteria usually cause it. It is important to begin treatment as soon as possible to avoid future complications. A CBC (complete blood count), pelvic ultrasound, and high vaginal swab (HVS) culture should be performed. Also, begin the treatment as advised. It is recommended that you use a condom if you are sexually active. Take tablet Metronidazole 400 mg and tablet Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily after food for seven days. Also, take the tablets Domperidone and Pantoprazole once daily before food for seven days.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

Can I start taking this medication before the tests?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It is preferable to begin the medications after the tests have been completed. However, it is best to start medications sooner if the pain is severe.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
