Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 16 years old and suffer from pearly penile papules (PPP). I want to get rid of them. Please suggest a suitable medicine. Can I use Candid B cream for them? Did they appear due to any side effects? They are increasing day by day and sometimes cause irritation.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com
Pearly penile papules are benign harmless lesions. Do not use self-medication. It will worsen the lesions. Attach the picture of lesion for a better clinical view.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
Sorry, I could not zoom much but I am sure the second kind has also started.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
I have seen the pictures. These are pearly penile papules (PPP), which are pearly white, dome-shaped papules present circumferentially on the coronal margins of the glans penis. They are more commonly seen in uncircumcised males. Its differential diagnosis includes hypertrophic sebaceous glands. On histopathology, dermal proliferation of fibroblasts in a collagenous stroma, decreased elastic fibers, and dilated blood vessels are seen in PPP. PPP are angiofibromas and occur in 50 percent of males (skin-colored, smooth, rounded, one to three mm papules around the coronal sulcus of the glans). No treatment is necessary. If the patient wants treatment, laser ablation or shave excision under medical supervision can be done. Cryotherapy or electrofulguration may also be performed. Other differentials include condyloma acuminata or papilloma.
I hope this helps.
Thank you and take care.
Regards.
