How to manage palpitations effectively?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 62-year-old female. I experience palpitations quite often. My blood pressure remains at 130/90 while taking Telma 20 mg and Nebicard 2.5 mg. Some friends have also suggested that I take Disprin 2.8 mg for prophylaxis.

Please advise whether I need to take Disprin or anything else.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your blood pressure is fairly well controlled. I suggest that you continue both medications. Please have an ECG (electrocardiogram) done when you experience palpitations. I recommend taking calcium and vitamin D3 tablets, as well as methylcobalamin supplements once a day for three months. Consult a specialist doctor, discuss your situation with them, and take medications with their consent. Additionally, get serum vitamin D3 and serum vitamin B12 tests if you have not done so already.

Thanks and regards.
