Can I use vitamin C or vitamin K creams to achieve even skin with fair tone?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 27 years old, and I have oily skin. My face looks dull due to uneven skin tone. Could you please suggest some vitamin C or vitamin K creams to get even skin with fair tone? Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concerns. Since you mentioned that you have oily skin, are you prone to acne as well? My suggestion for you to improve your skin condition are the following. You must wash your face at least two to three times a day. Use a mild face wash (you can use less sensitive face washes, like a gentle skin cleanser, as per your skin type). Use a moisturizer that suits you. You must use a toner. Rose water acts as the best natural toner for oily skin. You may spray the same on your face multiple times in the day. Use sunscreen for oily skin. If you need recommendations, you can consult me again, as per your preference. Try over-the-counter lotions or gels instead of cream for oily skin with vitamin C or vitamin K. Try getting vitamin C peeling for your skin if your condition permits. I have not seen your skin, so I cannot be sure about your skin condition. You can contact me again for further consultation with a detailed image showing your skin texture for a detailed analysis. Vitamin K usually comes only as cream, and I am not sure if vitamin K lotions or gels are available in all regions. You can arrange from other places or follow other options only if unavailable. Thank you.
