What could be the reason behind blood clots in the nose?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am having clotted blood whenever I go for cleaning the nose from the last few days. After every four hours, my nose is choking. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Use Solspre nasal spray (Sodium chloride) two to three puffs every few hours. It will help keep the mucosa lubricated and avoid excessive dryness. These days due to weather change and pollution, extreme dryness occurs which causes abrasions and bleeding in the nasal mucosa. Keep yourself hydrated and wear a mask when you venture outdoors. Do write back to let us know of your progress. Take care.
