Patient's Query
Hello Doctor,
My nine-year-old daughter recently recovered from norovirus, and now my two-year-old has stomach upset. We plan to visit my elderly father, who is undergoing chemotherapy, this weekend. How long should we wait before visiting to ensure we are no longer contagious? Also, what cleaning methods are most effective against norovirus?
Please help
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Isolate from others for four to five days to prevent spreading the virus.
Wear rubber or disposable gloves while cleaning.
Disinfect surfaces with a bleach solution, leave it for five minutes, then clean with soap and hot water.
Hand sanitizer does not work against norovirus; wash hands thoroughly with soap and water.
Avoid contact with others during the contagious period.
Hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at icliniq.
Thank you.
