What could cause frequent urination at night?

Hello doctor,

I am a 24-year-old man and I have been dealing with having to go pee at night very often even though I do not drink enough liquid at night for it to be the case. I go to the bathroom a minimum of two times and sometimes it is 3 to 4 times within an 8 to 9 hour period of sleeping. When I go to the bathroom though I pee as if I have drank a lot of liquid so it is not an issue of feeling like I need to pee when I do not. This has been going on for a few years now. I simply just do not understand why this is happening and it is affecting my quality of sleep. Please help.
