What could be the reason for nipple discharge and PCOD symptoms in a person taking vitamin C and zinc supplements?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 20 years old. My weight is 65 kg, and my height is 5.2 feet. I am currently on vitamin C and zinc medications. Since last week, I noticed a slight nipple discharge from my left one when squeezed. I think I have pcod symptoms such as weight gain, facial hair, and acne. Could you tell me what could be the reason for nipple discharge?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Following is my opinion on your question.

Nipple discharge can be seen when female hormones fluctuate or due to underlying benign breast diseases like fibrocystic disease. I suggest you visit the surgeon for a physical breast examination, and accordingly, an ultrasonography investigation can be done if needed. Sexual arousal and excess stress also sometime could be responsible for nipple discharge. Take regular treatment for PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) after consulting a gynecologist.

I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Best regards.
