Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 20-year-old female. I had proteins in my urine for the past many years but they have not caused any damage to my kidneys. Why so?
Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I went through your query.
It seems you suffer from nephrotic syndrome or membranous nephropathy. Children getting significant protein in the urine (proteinuria) is called minimal change disease (a variant of nephrotic syndrome). Have you ever been treated with steroids? Usually, this disease occurs in children and goes away by the age of 13 to 14 years. I suggest you do a biopsy.
Kindly share the reports with me.
Hope it helps.
Thank you.
