Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been going through some stressful events for the last three weeks. I worked a lot on repairing smartphones, where I sometimes needed to bend my neck forward. Also, I have used smartphones quite more than usual. I feel fatigued, and I have tight neck without pain for the last three weeks. I also think that my jaw is getting more tired when chewing without pain. I am little afraid of my jaw. Can tight neck cause jaw tightness and fatigue? Can this be related? Does fixing the neck resolve jaw tightness and fatigue? I have never had this before.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Muscular strain can definitely be the cause of your symptoms. But there could be other factors too causing fatigue, such as low vitamin d3 levels, thyroid hormone imbalance, vitamin deficiency. Do you do a lot of work indoors, or do you have less exposure to sunlight? Do you have a feeling of numbness or tingling sensation soon after you have worked for a while? Is there any history of diabetes or hypertension, or thyroid issues in your family? Is there any history of morning stiffness or pain in your small joints of hands? Revert with the information so that I can guide you further. As of now, use ice packs, avoid bending forwards, have posture control, and do isometric back and neck strengthening exercises. You can take a short course of muscle relaxants like Cyclobenzaprine or Thiocolchicoside as prescribed by your local doctor for five days. Other investigations and medications can be advised as per your reply to the questions mentioned above. Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
