Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I need to know if an MRI shows clear evidence of May-Thurner syndrome. Is there a way to show you that image? I need proof of this condition to have an appointment with someone to treat it. I am gradually losing my capacity to walk. I have venous insufficiency, leg discomfort, and swelling, along with other symptoms. I am currently on Midodrine and Propranolol.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity).
May-Thurner syndrome can be diagnosed with an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) or MR venogram, as well as a CT (computerized tomography) venogram (tests done for veins). If you experience pain or swelling, consult a vascular surgeon (specialist in operating blood vessels) or interventional radiologist (doctor who performs minimally invasive procedures) about a stenting or bypass treatment based on their examination. Mild cases can be managed conservatively. In any case, check with a vascular surgeon or an interventional radiologist at a local hospital.
I hope this helps.
Thank you, and take care.
Regards.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
I included the photographs with the original inquiry. Do you notice any indication of May-Thurner syndrome in those images?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity).
It is difficult to draw a conclusion from two images. We need a sequence of images to identify it. I would prefer you to submit all the images you take in a film or disc to a neighboring hospital for a better understanding.
I hope this helps.
Thank you and take care.
Regards.
