What are the medications or vaccinations available to cure monkeypox virus?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My friend is a foreign return and he started developing rashes all over his body with fever and body ache. He is tested positive for monkeypox virus. I read on internet that there is no vaccination or treatment for this infection. How to resolve the condition?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There is no vaccine. Monkeypox infection is similar to other viral infections but it will gradually subside. I suggest multivitamins and antipyretics for him. Provide adequate hydration.
