Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I missed my period on the date it was supposed to be. I am afraid that I might be pregnant because we had unprotected sex but my partner did not ejaculate. I did a home pregnancy test which was negative. I do not have any symptoms related to my periods like stomach pain or cramps what to do. Kindly suggest.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concerns.
Missing a period can be worrisome, especially if you have had unprotected intercourse. However, it is important to note that stress and other factors can also cause menstrual irregularities. Since you had unprotected intercourse and your period is delayed, it would be a good idea to repeat the pregnancy test after a few days to ensure the most accurate result. Pregnancy tests are generally reliable, but taking another test a week or so after the first one can help confirm the results. If the second test also comes out negative and you are still experiencing a delay in your period, it would be suggested to consult with a healthcare professional. They can provide a more comprehensive evaluation, considering your specific circumstances and medical history. They may also suggest further tests or examinations to determine the cause of the delayed period. Remember, stress and anxiety can also contribute to menstrual irregularities, so try to stay calm and take care of yourself.
I hope you find this information helpful.
Thank you.
