Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I did not get my period for one month and now I am three days late for my period of this month. Am I overstressing?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to iciniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. Stress, anxiety, overwork, strict diet, strenuous exercise, hormonal imbalance, contraceptives, and medications can disturb cycles.

  1. You need to have a healthy lifestyle and exercise daily for maintaining a normal BMI and weight.
  2. Have a complete check-up and treatment of any health issue you have.
  3. Have nice recreational activities and try to get rid of recreational drugs if you have been taking them.
  4. Have healthy food with less salt, sugar, salt, and spice.
  5. Have one transvaginal scan, on day 2 of the period and blood test (serum progesterone, serum prolactin, serum insulin, serum testosterone, thyroid function test, FSH, and LH).
  6. For menstrual induction, if serum beta hCG comes negative then have a tablet of Primolut-N 10 mg twice daily for 5 days and wait for 1 to 2 weeks for withdrawal bleeding.
  7. You can have combined oral contraceptive pills for three months to regulate cycles.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
