Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a young adult suffering from migraines on my right side for almost four years. A few weeks back, my right eye started twitching. The doctor said it was dehydration, but after few days I started feeling weird sensations on the right side of my face. It was tingling, burning, or sometimes weird electric waves. The doctor said it was peripheral neuropathy and prescribed me vitamin B12. After a few days, my right arm started hurting and tingling. It was exhausting to move it and my shoulders hurt. The doctor said it was a blood circulation issue due to iron deficiency. I had my tests done and got my results as follows.
The doctor concluded it was iron deficiency anemia and gave me iron capsules. I have been taking them for a week, but my arm hurts and my shoulder hurts, especially when I lie down. Is it anemia or something else? Kindly help, doctor.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
Mostly the pain is due to anemia only, but sometimes it can also be due to nerves. So in such a case, I would suggest you do an X-ray of the neck. It will help to check if there is any obstruction in the neck region because you have a tingling sensation in the face, so there might be some compression of neck nerves. Apart from that, continue with the same medicine and do not worry. Please do not lift heavy weights and sleep with a low pillow.
Please send me all of your reports. I will check and let you know.
Thank you and take care.
