Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 18 years of age and I just want to know how to remember my past. I have experienced being at a place I do not remember going it is like I just spawned there. I forget who I am. I have dissociation. I have noticed I have different genders at certain times. I have different opinions on things at certain times. Not relevant but I think I might be depressed as well but that is undiagnosed, as well I have self-harmed in the past but I have not for about two years now. Also unrelated but I find it difficult to speak to people and be around them.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Thank you for taking help from a psychiatrist. I can understand your situation. You may have a borderline personality disorder with chronic stress. It is a type of personality, nature. You may have a chronic feeling of emptiness, emotional outbursts, overwhelming behavior, and self-harming behavior. You mostly feel that no one understands you in this world. You may have difficulty keeping the relationship for a long time. You may have frequent job-related issues. You may have anger outbursts. There is non-pharmacological management for it. You should try to follow the below guidelines for it.

  1. You should do exercises daily for 30 - 45 minutes like at least going for a walk.
  2. You should do meditation for 20 minutes daily, just sit in one place in a comfortable position and try to concentrate on your normal breathing, do not stop or force yourself to stop your thoughts, just let it be. it will reduce panic attacks.
  3. You should eat healthy home-cooked foods, and avoid junk foods.
  4. You must drink enough water.
  5. You should spend quality time with friends and family daily or do video calls if you are leaving away
  6. You should spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills or language or musical instruments.
  7. You should take enough seven to eight hours of sleep daily.
  8. You must avoid tobacco or alcohol or any substance abuse.
  9. Live your life, do not just spend it.
  10. Be bold and confident.

I hope that you get your answer.

Please let me know if you want some help.

Thank you.
