Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I already have a baby and I have had some back issues so I went for an MRI. They first did a pregnancy test through a kit and I found out that I am pregnant before my period's due date. The pregnancy test showed one dark line and one faint line. Then I took an abortion pill. After taking the pill I had very little bleeding so I need to know what is the reason for this. I have been taking painkillers and calcium tablets for back pain for the last three months.

Please help. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Sometimes the kit might show false results, so you should not have taken the MTP (medical termination of pregnancy) pill immediately. And even if there is pregnancy, MTP pills would not act as expected this early. According to your description, the pregnancy must be of less than four weeks and it is too early to take MTP pills. It may not cause abortion completely but may cause such brown discharge and abdominal cramps.

I hope this information helps you.

Thank you.
