How to overcome masturbation addiction in an 18-year-old?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have become addicted to masturbation, and I am 18-years-old. My sexual urge increases and I am not able to control it. Is it fine to masturbate whenever I have an urge?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Masturbation is normal, and 95 % of male does that (out of a hundred male, ninety-five male). It is just another way of having sex without a partner. It is a good practice as it helps to relieve stress, boosts mood, improves sleep, and helps to prevent depression and anxiety. It relaxes the mind of a person, relieves pain and muscle cramps, and relieves the sexual tension. It also improves the confidence of a person, allows one to have better sex, and helps the person understand his needs and desires. In females, masturbation increases vaginal blood flow. Masturbation will not harm your penis. Having it two to three times a week is not an issue. More than that can cause tiredness, loss of concentration, and a sense of infertility. Suggested ways to reduce masturbation:

  1. Sex education.
  2. Physical exercises.
  3. Sleep adjustment.
  4. Quality of sleep.
  5. Healthy and balanced diet.
  6. Programming for leisure time.
  7. Development of spirituality.
  8. Taking a cold bath.

For tiredness or a decrease in strength, take a capsule of Astymin forte (Biotin, Calcium Pantothenate, and Cyanocobalamin) once a morning and a tablet of Shelcal (calcium and vitamin-D3) once a night after food for thirty days.

Hope this addresses your concern.

Kind regards.
