Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a four year old baby diagnosed with mesentric lymphadenopathy. She has stomach pain, fever, body pains, and sore throat.

Kindly advice.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

As long as the lymph nodes are no more than 20 mm in size, you need not worry. Regarding stomach pain, you can give the child syrup Cyclopamine (dose as per the child's weight) on an SOS basis.

As regards the fever:

  • If the temperature is 100 Fahrenheit or more, you can give syrup Crocin (Paracetamol) DS (240 mg/ml) (dose as per the child's weight) SOS 4 to 6 hourly.
  • If the temperature is 102 Fahrenheit or more, you can give syrup. Ibugesic (Ibuoprofen) Plus (dose as per the child's weight) is 6 to 8 hours.
  • Suppose the temperature stays above 100 Fahrenheit for over three days or crosses 103 Fahrenheit.

In that case, it is advisable to get evaluated physically by a pediatrician with possible blood investigations based on physical examination.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
