How to restore the libido lost due to watching excessive porn and masturbation?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I wanted to ask you about erection or libido issues. I am currently in a long-distance relationship with my girlfriend for the past few years. I watch more pornography when we are not together. I had some problems getting an erection for the past few weeks. My spontaneous erections had decreased as also my morning ones and my desire, in general, had also decreased. It happened to me before, but after managing to have sex it disappeared, so I thought of it as psychological. But now it has come back again. I do not feel any desire, and when I try to stimulate myself, an erection happens but quite mechanically, with no real desire or urge. Please suggest me the treatment. Should I only masturbate without watching pornography? Or should I stop masturbating even without pornography and just wait for the desire to come back?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

Sex is initiated by an urge or desire to do an activity called libido. Usually, when one regularly involves in some particular kind of sexual activity or uses particular fantasies like pornography watching and masturbation, the intensity of libido decreases over time. I suggest you take a break from masturbation, pornography watching, etc., for some time. Your libido will increase, resulting in a good erection.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
