Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
A few weeks ago I noticed that my bottom front teeth felt slightly loose. I looked up my symptoms and suspected it might be gum disease because I have always had poor dental hygiene and never flossed. Since then I started brushing, flossing, and using a natural mouthwash three times a day, then I went to the dentist and asked about my concerns.
The dentist told me that I did not have gum disease and had nothing to be concerned about and the loose bottom teeth were most likely from grinding. I want to believe him but I also want to be sure he is correct. My gums are mostly pink close to the teeth but farther down they are very red and seem decayed.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Let me tell you something. Even I have undergone this situation (personally). There are several types of periodontal conditions, out of which, this is called trauma from occlusion due to bruxism, clenching. Your teeth may loose its normal curves or contour and may even get loose. Primary line of treatment involves splint or night guard, along with minor procedures. You can share a picture by following up and attaching a file. I would be glad to assist you. Many a times, such mobility turns out to be more physiological than pathological (as it turned out for me).
